Allen Eugene Fitzgerald, 75, of Jena, Louisiana, passed peacefully from this life into his heavenly home on April 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 21, 1949, in Taylor, Arkansas, Eugene was the son of Troy William Fitzgerald and Janice Ruby Miller Fitzgerald. A proud Vietnam veteran, Eugene served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army and remained deeply patriotic throughout his life.

A true outdoorsman, Eugene found joy in fishing, hunting, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Poppa.” He was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church, and a lifelong Arkansas Razerbacks fan.

Eugene’s life was one of devotion—to his faith, his family, and his country. His strength, warmth, and love will live on in all those who had the blessing of knowing him. Eugene is preceded in death by both his parents, Troy and Janice Fitzgerald, and brother-in-law, Jerry Jackson.

He leaves behind a loving legacy through his wife, Cindy Fitzgerald; son, Jeffrey (Kim) Fitzgerald; granddaughters, Kinley and Kora Fitzgerald; son, Brian (Amber) Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Darron Pardee, Gabby Pardee and Sierra Sullivan; daughter, Casey (Cj) Hall; grandchildren, Tanner, Colton and Addi Hall; daughter, Brook (Cody) Pritchard; grandchildren, Natalie, Tate, and Landry Pritchard; brother, Walter Ray (Kaye) Fitzgerald; sister, Glenda Ruth Jackson.
