OBITUARY

Ralph Edward "Sarge" Kell, Sr. age 82 passed away Saturday November 22, 2014 in Marion, VA.

Mr. Kell was born in Marion, VA and preceded in death by his parents Luther Edward Kell & Lona Mae Havens Kell and two brothers John Luther Kell & Robert M. Kell. Mr. Kell was retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He achieved the rank of First Sergeant, served in the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He was the recipient of several medals of valor to include the purple heart and the bronze star. Mr. Kell was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Chilhowie Masonic Lodge # 250 AF & AM. He also retired from Dewberry & Davis as an inspector.

Survivors include six children, Cheryl L. Kell, Brockton, Mass., Kathleen L. Levesque and husband Gary, Oakland, Maine, Kenneth F. Kell and wife Robin, San Antonio, Tex., Ronald W. Kell and wife Rene, Marion, Va., Helen E. Kell-Harris and husband Jed, Taunton, Mass., and Ralph Kell Jr. and wife Michelle, Marion, Va.; two brothers, William Carl Kell, Marion, Va., and Frank Kell, Hamilton, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
