OBITUARY

Terry Ray Dallegge, 63, of Lincoln, formerly of Central City, died Wednesday, February 13 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date as Mr. Dallegge has chosen cremation following the service.

Terry was born on August 7, 1949 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Virgil and Bonnie (Ruzicka) Dallegge. He grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1967. He also graduated from Central Community College in 1969 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Business Marketing. He was then immediately drafted into the United States Army in 1969. He served in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. He earned awards including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 service stars, the Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal twice, Combat Infantry Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and the Meritorious Service Award. Throughout his military career he was stationed in Germany, Fort Campbell, KY, Fort Jackson, SC and Fort Polk, LA.

He married Laura M. Bolling on July 1, 1972 in Central City. Of this union, they were blessed with a son, Travis Anthony and a daughter, Jennifer Lea. Terry was employed as a production manager at Midland Products in Osceola for 15 years. He was also a driver for Golden Living Center Nursing Home until he retired. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island. He loved Husker Football, fishing, genealogy, reading, history and music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his four granddaughters – Abby Grace, Sydney Raye, Carlea Shae, and Harper Quinn. Terry was a great storyteller and loved a good joke!

Terry retired from the military in 1992 and resided in Central City for 22 years until moving to Lincoln in November of 2012 to be closer to his children.

He is survived by his loving wife – Laura of Lincoln, NE; one son- Travis (Robyn) Dallegge of Omaha, NE; one daughter – Jennifer (Heath) Svendsen of Lincoln, NE; four granddaughters and one black lab – Sassy.
